As of May 11, we've got 52 brothers and 28 wives or guests signed up to attend the KB reunion on Oct. 9th. The contract with the Albany Marriott has been signed and will be working on the menu with their catering department. Brian Pope has hired the DJ and is working on his playlist. Bill Murphy, Bill Gold and Marv Pace have volunteered to design killer name tags and handle duties at the reception desk. Al Barocas (Fathead, Al Fatah, etc.) has stepped up and assumed editorial responsibility for the 2010 Edition of the Kappa Kronicle. And web-master, Jay Rosovsky is firing up the Kappa Beta website: www.kappabetasunyalbany.com
Besides me, the guys currently signed on to attend the reunion are: Dave Simington, Art Johnston, Marv Pace, Bill Murphy, Bob Peterkin, Jerry Dolinger, Dave Ellenbogen, Bill Gold, Larry Lioz, Paul Michel, Jay Rosovsky, Roger Barkin, Chickie Cairo, George Haberhehl, Igor Koroluk, Chuck Lubochinski, Jim Lucey, Buzzy Ostrowsky, Howie Wecksler, John Babiarz, Carl Bender, Danny Burns, Ray Cascia, Barry Poletick, Walt Quillinan, Don Weyand, Dan Valvano, Howie Dobbs, Jim Grady, Mary McMahon, Ed Sturges, Phil Abitabile, Dr. Joe Amato, Al Barocas, Charlie Blanchard, Tom Decker, Carl Florio, Alan Grossinger, Joe Huray, Elliott Nirenberg, Jim O’Sullivan, Brian Pope, Ken Turow, Alan Zaremba, Warren Greshes, Kurt Legler, Alan Weinstock, Bobby Zaremba, Vince Perone and Mr. Larry Rizzi.
Old timers Buzz Welker and Frank Banta and youngsters Joe Torani, Les Buchanan, John DeNicolo, Paul Lieberman and Marty Levi are definitely interested and it says right here that Mr. Frank Susi will be there. Steve Flood, Andy Davidson and I are working together on a gift from KB to Scotty’s kids and I’m hopeful that Steve and Andy will be there too. Howie Dorfman is torn between attending the reunion and a date with a horse. Horse, horse face, what else is new?
We need help to bring other guys in from the cold. Among the luminaries who have not been heard from are Cliff Demorest, Lynn Costello, George Gavagan, Gil Brookins, Rick Matteo, Jack Backus, the enigmatic Peter Bice, Roy Cameron, Tom Carlson, Bob Dobrusin, Dan Johnson, Gary Martinus, Rick Shirkey, Sal Villa, Mike Zimmerman, Rick Capullo, Roger Forando, Dave Hawley, Rick Jaffe, Chris Chronin, Valentine Kriel, Larry MacDowell, Eggs Benedict, Al Cassier, John Shufon, Craig Flood, Mike Hartigan and many other brothers. And no reunion would be complete without honoraries George Contompasis and Mick Teeter.
If you are in touch with these or any other brothers, please reach out, bring them in and have them email me confirmation of their plans to attend the reunion. If you would like to help by calling guys in your class and need an updated KB Directory, let me know and I’ll remit promptly.
Finally, there's plenty of other work to be done. If you want to work on the reunion, please give me a call.
